THE FOREST COLLECTION

This collection is so-called because it reflects the natural beauty of wood that has come directly from a forest, woodland or countryside location without being processed.

The intention is to bring out the spirit of the wood by celebrating its natural growth story and life-cycle features – inclusions, knots, cracks and bark – and incorporating them into the finished piece as an intrinsic part of the design. The result is a true partnership between maker and material and each piece is symbolistic of the raw wildness of nature with which humans can engage but never tame.

The sense of place of every source locality is an important part of the character of the finished pieces. There is something of the mystery, enigma and sylvian beauty of the forest in every one.
